Xmas Cupcakes class for Butterfly Project Malaysia






At 19 Culinary Studio hosted with pleasure an Xmas Cupcakes class for 20 bloggers from the Butterfly Project Malaysia. There was a mixture of experienced and newbie bloggers who all came bright and early on a saturday morning to have fun baking red velvet cupcakes and decorating them with colourful fondant for a delectable Xmas finishing touch.

Tammy, founder of the Butterfly Project Malaysia, and her team were on hand to cheer everyone on. Least to say, many many many photos were taken and cameras clicking and videos rolling away. Selfies and wefies were the order of the day. Everyone enjoyed themselves and had great bonding time as fellow bloggers. We are indeed proud to be the sponsor for a 2nd year running as part of our CSR to nurture young budding talents. 21 Aug 2016 – 10am to 1.30pm @ RM230 per pax (normal: RM260).

7 cookies with 7 different designs. The instructor will demo how to make runny icing and how to apply it onto the cookies. Students will bring back 7 cookies and 2 brushes. Edible paint, design templates and worksheets to be used in class will be provided.

Master Artist Zahir Yusof is the owner of art shop Creative Cottage and the author of 2 books – “Dekorasi Seni Lukis & Decourage” and “Dekorasi Seni Lukis Mesra Alam”. He is a self- taught artist who is passionate about teaching art. He offers lessons in many different kinds of art and the most popular is folk art. Folk Art can be painted on different surfaces including fondant cakes, cupcakes and even cookies! The most popular folk art motifs are of course flowers like Hydrangeas and Roses.

Classes are hands-on. No prior art or painting experience is required. Students get to take home their painted “masterpieces” and the set of brushes, design templates and worksheets used in class. Students will learn different designs and techniques in painting beautiful edible art pieces.

John Torode's Malaysian Adventure in At 19 Culinary Studio's kitchen





At 19 Culinary Studio's kitchen, which has been featured in many cooking shows and advertisements, was once again chosen as the kitchen studio for Episode 1 of John Torode's Malaysian Adventure cooking show currently airing at Astro Nat Geo People Channel 725.

British Australian celebrity Chef John Torode and local Malaysian celebrity Chef Sherson cooked our national dish, Nasi Lemak, at At 19 Culinary Studio's kitchen. Catch At 19 Culinary Studio Dietitian Chef Chui Hoong in Episode 2 showing Chef John Torode around Seremban's biggest and colourful wet market plus the famous Seremban Beef noodles.

The Great British Bake Off Contest Winners' Event - 30 Apr 2016






At 19 Culinary Studio hosted a Baking Class for the winners of The Great British Bake Off Contest for Malaysia. All the winners had fun baking recipes from British celebrity bakers, Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry. Kitchen Aid prizes were given away to the best bakes of the day. The participants did Mary Berry's Cherry Cake and Paul Hollywood's Chocolate Volcanoes and Mini Sausage Plaits.

Zhang Festival - Nyonya Glutinous Rice Dumplings





Zhang festival is coming soon in early June. So, why not take the opportunity to learn how to make some rice dumplings for your family members and friends to try out. This is a speciality class conducted by Dietitian Chef Chui Hoong who will take participants through the making of nyonya rice dumplings featured in the award winning Lost Recipes of Malaysia cookbook. You will learn how to make the fillings and get the blue colouring from the natural blue pea flowers. You will also learn the correct and proper way to wrap the rice dumplings.

Note: The filings used in the class are pork free and alcohol free.

Back to Basics Cooking Class series





This Back to Basics Cooking class series is for serious foodies who wish to learn the basics of the different types of meat from how to cut it to how to cook it. At our Chicken from Scratch class on 28 Feb 2016, participants learnt which part of the chicken is suitable for what type of dishes and how long to cook it.

Participants also learnt everything there is to know about Chicken, joining Chef Khai in going back to basics to learn how chefs prepare and cook chicken ie. proper cleaning, chopping, slicing and deboning techniques. Learn how to cut a whole chicken from scratch, knive skills, how to debone and use different parts of the chicken to do a dish.

In this class, participants used the BREAST meat to cook a delicious Chicken Chowder, the chicken THIGH to cook an Asian style Chicken Chop and the WINGS to deep fry into crispy Chicken Boxing.

Our Fish from Scratch class is coming up on 17 Apr 2016 where participants will learn the same skills and techniques as Chicken from Scratch except this time it is Fish. In this class, participants will use the BONES and MEAT to cook a French Fish Stew, the HEAD to cook Fish Head Curry and the FILET for Fish and Chips! Cake of the month - Feb 2016


It’s time again for us to feature our “Cake of the month” to showcase what we consider our best custom made order cake. The Cake of the month for Feb is a Mickey & Minnie Mouse Toys Cake. The 2 tier cake has a bottom tier of 9 inch and top tier of 6 inch. The flavour was our popular moist chocolate for the top tier and red velvet for the bottom tier. Yummy! The cake was covered in red and blue fondant with Mickey hugging the cake surrounded with clouds and grass in the outdoors. Mickey and Minnie stands majestically on the top of the cake are non-edible toy toppers.
