Private Class: Ana's Bridal Shower - 12 May 2012

When Tasha e-mailed us to host a cupcakes baking class as a bridal shower for her friend, Ana who was getting married in June, we were delighted. The theme was black and red. Tasha got each of the girls black t-shirts with their names printed in red - cool! We quickly put on our thinking caps and came up with the theme of Bride & Groom. The girls created designs of a bridal dress, a groom's suit, roses and ribbons, all on black and red fondant. A touch of glitter was added as the finishing touch and hey presto - 4 lovely decorated cupcakes. We even brought out our new red coloured kitchen aid mixer just for Ana!

What an event it was. All the girls changed into their black t-shirts and everyone looked fantastic in their cool jeans. Of course the bribe-to-be had a polka dot apron and everyone enjoyed themselves baking, chit chatting, chilling out without boyfriends and husbands. Great stuff. We wish you the very best Ana....Happliy Ever After from all of us At 19!

Kids' Birthday Party

When Li Yuan’s mum approached us to host a kids’ birthday party for Li Yuan, we were delighted. There would be snacks, cutting birthday cake and of course a baking activity. We recommended a cupcake baking & decorating class for the kids and Li Yuan chose the Animal Zoo theme. All the kids had fun trying their hands at baking cupcakes and rolling out fondant in various colours to create zoo animal designs. Needless to say, the party was great and Li Yuan had a whale of a time!

If you wish to host a kids birthday party with a baking class activity thrown in,
e-mail us at
at19culinary@yahoo.com for enquiries. We will be more than happy to assist.

Cake of the month - March 2012

It’s time again for us to feature our “Cake of the month” to showcase what we consider our best custom made order cake. The Cake of the month for March is a Birthday Cake ordered by Jeannie for her colleague Jim Leng. Jeannie sent us a picture of how she wanted the cake to look like and asked if we could re-create the design. Jeannie was very pleased when she collected her cake which was based on a very sweet floral design with pastel colours.

The girls called us later to say that they absolutely liked the cake – tastes yummy and adored the designer pastel flowers. The compliments made our day. Hope you had a wonderful birthday Jim
Leng. Happy Birthday!

Private Class: Wappsol Solutions - 20 Mar 2012

When Sher Ling got in touch with us to do a teambuilding class for her company, little did we know that the participants were more guys than gals and the class choice was (would you believe it).... Macaroons. All 17 guys (and 3 girls) were full of excitement when they arrived at our culinary studio on a tuesday afternoon to learn the rudiments of making and baking the perfect macaroons. Everyone had fun trying their hands at making wonderfully delicious chocolate and strawberry macaroons. Yummy! Thumbs up for the gutsy guys!
