Teenagers, Parent & Child Classes - Nov & Dec 2013

 Kids' Mad for Macarons Class

Teenagers, Parent & Child Quick Italian Bites Class

Teenagers, Parent & Child Xmas Fondant Cupcakes Class

Parent & Child Mini Gingerbread House Class

It was that time in our class calender that we celebrate the School Holidays. We conducted teenagers' baking boot camps and parent &child classes and we must show you the photos. It is so so endearing when you see teenagers and kids having a good time and good skills too. We love conducting these school holiday classes because the children have so much fun. Children are the most creative lot. They are the first not to follow the instructor's instructions!

Looking for some bonding time with your kids or looking for interesting activities for your teenagers to do that will horn their skills. As we always say "learning to bake or cook is a life survival skill, not just a hobby". If you are interested in our teenagers and parent & child classes, our next batch of school holiday classes are in March 2014. So, don't wait, book them now on our website. Adela Product Branding Event - 14 & 15 Dec 2013

At 19 Culinary Studio was glad to host the product branding event for Adela recently. Adela ran a contest "Bicara Dapur - Adela Marjein" over Suria FM to increase the brand awareness for Adela margerine. The winners of the contest get to attend a baking class with their chosen partner and receive free hampers of Adela products.

We created two recipes using Adela margerine and conducted the baking class for the contest winners. The two recipes were absolutely scrumptious - Apple & Walnut cake with Pecan Caramel sauce and Mini Italian Cheesy Pizza with a thick crust filled with cheese. Everyone gave the thumbs up for deliciousness. The pecan caramel sauce was finger licking good!

The contest winners were treated to a high tea spread of finger food at our garden and the event finished off with a prize giving ceremony and each participant were also given a certificate of attendance. Everyone enjoyed themselves and needless to say full to the brim!

If you are looking for a culinary studio to launch a product or hold an event, please contact us at19culinary@yahoo.com. We will be glad to help you.

Private Class: Shell - 16 Dec 2013

Boy! At the last count, we have conducted a handful of team building sessions for Shell at our studio. Word must have quickly gone round to the various departments after we conducted the first team building class. We must have had the thumbs up from those who have come and thus recommended to their other departments to do likewise.

Jacelyn co-ordinated this team building class and as usual, we are used to requests to pack in all sorts of stuff within their budget. No problem, we do the best we can to accommodate. After some phone calls and e-mails, we finally settled in on a fondant cupcake baking and decorating session. This is our most popular team building pick.

Everyone arrived very excited and hey, they were so creative - they made their own aprons. This wowed us as their pretty floral aprons were amazing, complete with each of their names on it. It was fun time as everyone baked and later got down to decorating their cupcakes, making their own free style "What makes them happy cupcakes". There were rainbow, flowers, xmas tree, gift boxes, Channel logo, Japanese shusi, Smiley face and even LV bags!

Everyone was so happy with their creations and could not wait to show them off to their family. What a great way to bond with team mates and spend time away from work. If you would like to do a team building event, give us a call at 016-377 8236 or e-mail us at contact@at19culinary.com. We can help you fit any budget.

Private Class: Gamuda - 14 Dec 2013

When Pei Yan e-mailed us to enquire about a baking class for her and her colleagues at Gamuda, we were quick to propose the very popular cupcake baking and fondant decorating class. They chose the Happy Days theme and everyone was busy creating fondant designs of things which makes them "happy". There were rainbows, flowers, even Mr snowman since it is the christmas season. A talented bunch creating all those wonderful cupcake designs. Everyone agreed that it was a great way to bond and chill out. The end results were simply delightful. Everyone was so happy with their cupcake creations and could not wait to show them off to their family and friends.

Cake of the month - Dec 2013

It’s time again for us to feature our “Cake of the month” to showcase what we consider our best custom made order cake. The Cake of the month for Dec is a Car cake. Those of you do cake decorating knows that it is not easy to do a Car cake. It looks simple but it is actually difficult to sculpture a Car out of a baked cake and decorate it with fondant.

When Erica approached us to do a Car cake to surprise a friend of hers, we were excited to accept the challenge. Erica sent us a photo of the real car she wanted to create on cake. She was specific on what she wanted and the end result was remarkable as you can see and compare the real car photo and the Car cake. The Car cake was cut out from a moist chocolate cake and then covered with fondant. The completed Car cake is about 6 inch x 4 inch and weighs about 2kg.

Well, we can’t be happier than to know we have made someone happy. Have a special event coming up? Need a special cake? Take a peek at our Cake Creations Gallery: http://www.at19culinary/gallery_cake.html. For enquiries on our custom order designer cakes, please send us an e-mail at contact@at19culinary.com.

Private Class: Petron - 29 Nov 2013

We were surprised to received yet another team building cook out enquiry from Petron just barely a month after their Sports Club held their baking fest at our studio. Jenny said that some of their department colleagues who joined the Sports Club baking session liked it very much and they decided to have another baking cook out at our studio!

However, they wanted something different, something chocolate and they want to bake cakes instead of cupcakes. They had some spare budget and requested us to throw in a tea break for them too! Hmm....what a tall order! We put on our thinking caps and after several e-mails with Jenny, we settled with Salted Caramel Chocolate Cake. Yummy!

Everyone arrived very excited and in high spirits on a friday afternoon, eager to start baking. "Wah, this is not easy" - some of the participants whispered to each other. Well, it is indeed not an easy cake to make but everyone turned out to be a pro, baking and decorating the cake with chocolate ganache and salty caramel dripping off the cake. Slurp!

Everyone was so happy with their creations and could not wait to show them off to their family. What a great way to bond with team mates and spend time away from work. If you would like to do a team building event, give us a call at 016-377 8236 or e-mail us at contact@at19culinary.com.
