Private class: Parent & Child Thomas the Train Cupcakes - 22 Sept 2012

What a way to spend a fun weekend afternoon with the kids. When Jovi approached us to conduct a parent & child cupcakes class for her family & friends, we were delighted. It was a mother and child afternoon with dad tagging along to take photos of course! Thomas the Train, Thomas the Train - the kids wanted Thomas the Train - their favourite cartoon character. So, we did Thomas the train and railway tracks on a lovely lawn with flowers for it to run on. The kids had a fun time baking the cupcakes and decorating them using fondant in various colours. The results were amazing!

If you would like to organise a private class for parent & child activity at our cooking school, do call us at 016-377 8236 or e-mail at19culinary [at] yahoo.com for enquiries.

Private Class: Lily Chow from Hong Kong - 23, 25 & 26 Aug 2012

When Malaysian Lily Chow currently residing in Hong Kong contacted us to do a private class for her on her holiday back to Malaysia, we were excited as she wanted to learn authentic cooking and baking using natural ingredients. She wanted to learn how to hand make her own cendol from scratch, popular nyonya appetizer pai tee and delicious favourite popiah.  She also wanted to learn local flavor chiffon cakes which must be “soft as the clouds” and the laborious pandan layer cake and kuih lapis Indonesia. Phew! That’s a lot to learn in 3 days.

We gotta give a cheer to Lily’s mum who drove her to/fro the 3 day classes and waited patiently for her daughter to finish class! Lily enjoyed her one to one classes and gained lots of tips and techniques as she did not stop asking questions! Lily said “I wanted to learn these recipes because they are my favourite food and not easily available in Hong Kong. When I was searching for a cooking school, my friends, some of whom are bakers, recommended At 19 Culinary Studio.”

Thanks Lily for the commendation. We hope you enjoyed the classes as much as we enjoyed having you for 3 days. Interested to enquire about private class or recipe development – call us at 016-377 8236.
