Parent & Child Cupcakes Decorating class - 19 Mar

The school holidays were here in March. Even though a short one week, some parents found time to bond with their children through our Parent & Child baking classes. One such class was the Cupcakes Decorating class where little Justin, Jordan and Li Yuan were thrilled to bits learning how to bake and decorate cupcakes.

With the help of their mums, they managed to complete the task of baking and making cute little bears, flowers, leaves, butterflies, octopus, hearts etc of all shapes and sizes. We were happy to see mums and their children having a good time in a creative activity together.

If you missed our Parent & Child classes this Mar school holidays, fret not. We are having more Parent & Child cooking and baking classes in the coming school holidays. Stay tuned.

Short Temper Pastries class - 19 Mar

Our students who joined Baker Anand's Short Temper Pastries class had always wanted to learn how to make pastries but never had the opportunity to do so. They finally found the answer to their foodie dream to try out their skills in making different types of pastries.

Baker Anand taught the class to make a seafood & mushroom en croute, a mushroom, tomato & mozzarella quiche and for the sweet tooth in all of us, a delectable chocolate tart. Students also learnt about ready made puff pastry and how to use them to make their very own short crust pastry with savoury toppings.

Simple Bread class - 13 March

Our Simple Bread class (from scratch) on 13 Mar conducted by Chef Khai was fully booked. All students who came for the class shared one common passion - their love for bread. They were eager to learn how to make their own bread from raw ingredients. Chef Khai guided the class to do 4 recipes - bread rolls, raisin rolls, cinnamon doughnuts, sesame sweet rolls.

Soon after the class started, everyone got their hands "dirty" kneeding dough with their bare hands. It was fun! Everyone saw their hard work turning into great smelling buns in the oven. By the end of the class, everyone was exhausted but happy to bring home big tupperwares of their own creations to show off to their family and friends. Good job!

If you have missed out on this bread class, our next bread class (from scratch) is on 2 Apr. Log on to our class calender in our website for more details and you can book online at www.at19culinary.com

Private class - Stephanie & Mum

We conducted a private cooking class for Canadians, Stephanie and her mum who were on their Asia Pacific tour. Both are food enthusiaists and insisted to have culinary classes in each country that they visited. Fresh from cooking classes in Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam and now Malaysia, both mother and daughter were keen to learn what Malaysian cuisine was all about.

Under the guidance of Chef Bee and interpreter, Lisa, Stephanie and Mum Pih Yun had a whale of a time learning about the different spices and herbs used in Malaysian cooking inspired by the different cultures in Malaysia. Both learnt to cook delicious Chicken Rendang, Yellow Fish Curry, Fruit & Vegetable Kerabu Salad and Pengat Pisang.

This is what Stephanie has to say - "My mum and I are thrilled to come to your cooking school. The recipes taught are simple for me to practise again when I am back in Canada. The food is delicious and not too spicy. I especially liked the Chicken Rendang and Yellow Fish Curry. At 19 Culinary Studio is fabulous and our best wishes to you."
